In today’s day and age, one of the most popular ways to try and lose weight is to download a weight loss app. Certain estimates suggest that the ten most popular apps of this kind have been downloaded over 300 million times. However, there is little evidence available to show these apps will really help users to lose weight.
Obesity scientists predict that next generation weight loss apps will be more promising and should go further to help users lose the weight for good. More apps will be scientifically tested and will offer self-monitoring and user support. More importantly, they will teach users the skills they need to lose weight and to keep it off.
