A study completed by the National Center for Health Statistics recently found that the uninsured rate in the U.S. continued to decrease last year. In 2014, the rate of uninsured Americans was at 11.5%. By 2015, this rate had fallen to 9.1%.
Among adults between 18 and 64 years of age, the percentage of uninsured individuals fell from 16.3% in 2014 to about 12.9% in 2015. An increase was seen in the amount of people with private health insurance coverage, increasing from 67.3% to 70%. Back in 2013, only 64.2% of people in this age range had private health insurance coverage, and over 20% were uninsured.
These findings were released by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) in February 2016.
