Pediatric Infections Lead to Metabolic Diseases

Researchers recently examined whether infections during childhood has an impact on metabolic issues later in life. A study completed at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Australia looked at whether children that were hospitalized with an infection, had any metabolic disorders as adults. There was a correlation between children with a higher BMI and a likelihood of developing metabolic syndrome.
