The Spring 2016 Economic Outlook survey, created by Premier, recently polled a variety of health system officials, including CEOs, CFOs, and COOs. The results found that the expansion of post-acute care networks is currently a top priority for health systems. 95% of respondents said expansion is a key area of focus. Many executives anticipate that this project is the greatest challenge facing the healthcare system in the coming years.
Healthcare is continuing to transition from a focus on acute care toward an integrated provider system. By continuing this trend, health systems will likely have more success in creating expanded and accountable care organizations.
